| John Paro Elected Chairman of the Board of HallStar |
| John Paro, President and Chief Executive Officer of The HallStar Company since May 2006, was elected Chairman of the Board on July 30, 2009. He succeeds George Vincent, who served as Chairman for 23 years before retiring in 2009. Vincent will continue to sit on the Board of Directors. The HallStar Company (www.hallstar.com) is a management-owned corporation that provides the right chemistry and innovative solutions for its worldwide customer bases, specializing in the personal care and polymer additives markets. HallStar owns a substantial patent portfolio, including recent groundbreaking work in photostabilizing sunscreen and personal care products. Mr. Paro, who will continue to serve as President and CEO of HallStar in addition to his new responsibilities, also serves as an eloquent spokesperson on behalf of the chemistry industry. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chemistry Council and has served as the Chairman of the Illinois Chemical Council. He is a contributing member of a number of other industry associations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Bucknell University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. The HallStar Company is one of Chicago’s industrial success stories. The firm has a dozen affiliates and subsidiary companies, one almost one hundred years old. The company develops and manufactures specialty chemicals and markets them worldwide.
