Sunscreen Cream SPF 50+ (60) PFA 50

Formula Number: JZ7-53B

This formulation was designed to provide superb broad spectrum (SPF/PFA <<3) label SPF 50+ performance. SolaStay® S1 and SolaStay® P1 provide very rapid and efficient excited state quenching of Avobenzone, protecting it from photodegradation, and so improve sunscreen performance. HallBrite® BHB and HallTress® DIBA Special contribute to UV filter solubility and enhance product feel. Olivem® 1000 provides an elegant base for emulsion formation. This formulation was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~65 (50+), PFA (PPD) ~50 performance with critical wavelength 381 nm.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE

1In secondary vessel add phase A and start mixing. Add phase B with continued mixing.
2Heat phase AB to 85°C and then add phase C with mixing. Add phase D after phase ABC is homogeneous
3Add water of phase E to the main vessel, start mixing and add the Disodium EDTA and then the Xanthan Gum.
4When fully incorporated, start heating phase E to 80°C and add premix of phase F.
5When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add oil phase ABCD
