SUPRMIX® D-148® DRY

Common Name: PRCESSING AID, DRY
Product Code: 4827
Brand: D-148®Suprmix®

  • Description
  • Typical Properties
  • Global Compliance

There are incidences when rubber formulations meet all the specifications and design criteria given to the compounder; that may include ASTM designations, durometers, physicals, aged physicals, scorches, Mooney viscosities, and so on; but the mixed compounds may be nervy, may seem too dry, or will not extrude, mill, or calender smoothly. Making changes by tweaking the ingredients may not be the way to solve the processing problems because that can disrupt the balances between polymers, fillers, plasticizers, and cure systems and will just add more variables with which to contend. Those times call for D-148 Process Aid, a specially formulated fatty acid compound, designed to eliminate most polymer processing problems. However, D-148 is a thick paste. Suprmix® D-148 eliminates the problems in weighing and the need to scrape out the weighing container during the mixing cycle by our incorporating the D-148 process aid on our amorphous silica carrier to make a free flowing powder dispersion. Suprmix® D-148 can be used effectively in place of several higher priced products. It is neutral in most cure systems and contains no waxes or silicones to affect adhesion or bonding qualities. It is highly compatible in SBR, CR and is also useful in natural rubber and EPDM.
